Below is exactly how Div/Sum protects your account, keeps your data sealed to you, and keeps your payment tag hidden until you decide to share it. No vague promises — just a plain explanation of what happens and why.
Secure sign-in, your way
Create your account with an email and password, or sign in instantly with Google — whichever you trust most.
- Every sign-in opens a private, encrypted session. Your password is never stored in plain text and is never visible to anyone inside or outside the team.
- Our servers verify your identity on every single action. Expired or missing sessions are rejected immediately — there are no shortcuts past authentication.
- All traffic between your device and Div/Sum travels over HTTPS with TLS encryption, so nothing can be intercepted or read in transit.
- Email verification is required before your account becomes active, preventing unauthorised sign-ups using your address.
Hidden by default
How your payment tag stays hidden
Your Revolut tag is only ever useful to someone who's actually paying you back. So that's the only time it appears — the moment a real connection or split exists. Here's the full journey, step by step.
You add it privately
Your Revolut, Venmo or PayPal tag lives on your profile, where only you can see and edit it.
People find you by name only
When someone searches to connect with you, Div/Sum returns your name only. Your payment tag is never included in those results.
A mutual connection is made
Your tag stays sealed until both you and another person accept a connection request, or you join the same split together. No connection, no tag.
Revealed only to the right people
Once connected, your tag is shown only to that specific person — never to the wider app, never to strangers.
Links are built on demand
When someone owes you money, the payment link is generated right then for that exact person and amount. It isn't stored or shared beyond the active split.
In short: no one can pull up your Revolut tag just by knowing your name or email. It only ever appears to people you've connected with or are actively splitting a bill alongside.
